Before embarking on his legal career, Attorney John Anthony Ward served in the United States Marine Corp from 1976 until 1979 and earned the rank of corporal. He then obtained his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1985, graduating in the top ten percent of his class.

Attorney Ward's first jury trial resulted in a not-guilty verdict and his second case led to a non-jury. During his 35-year legal career, he has handled more than 200 jury trials in state and federal courts throughout southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. He is also licensed in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
